Camp Waimanaaki

While we were at camp we had loads of fun there. We had access to a trampoline which you can see with Joslyn and I in the bottom right corner. We also did really fun activities which included fishing, paintballing, biking and kayaking/raft building. The kayaking and raft building are the pictures on the left side. Raft building was quite hard because my group did it last and we had to undo all the knots which was impossible! But luckily we got there in the end. In the top left picture was when we discovered some “clay” from the river. When our camping days were over we all took a group picture (In the top right corner).

Memory:  As I set foot in the water I had goosebumps all over me, it was freezing and I felt like something horrible would happen, it just felt so ominous. “Plop!” went the water as I put my full weight onto the kayak. Water splashed everywhere on my face whenever I tried to move the oars. Later everyone kept saying that they’ve seen an eel roundabouts where I was. As soon as I knew it I freaked out and paddled as far away as I could, then before I knew it everyone has seen eels and they were all in different places. I was terrified to go near the water in case I’d see an eel, once I thought I saw an eel it was just floating up everyone else thought that it was a stick but a stick couldn’t stand right up properly or bend! Well we never figured out that mystery but I’m pretty sure that it was an eel.
