Basic Facts Ladder

We are all working on our basic facts in TKT. Here is a copy of our basic facts ladder. Everyone has their personalised step that they are working on. To move up each step they must be tested by a teacher and answer 5 random step questions correctly. To ensure that the answers are knowledge and not worked out, each question must be answered within 3 seconds.

  4. It would be cool to do it like the chaser on The Chase. Make a ladder with 10 spaces, and have two counters. I predict how many I will get right and put my counter on that space. The chaser starts at the top. We both get asked a question and write down the answer. Each person who gets it right moves down one, but if you get it wrong you stay still. If the chaser catches me, I have to do 10 press ups! If I get home first, I get CHOCOLATE!!!

  11. Math war

    My idea is math war.

It is a 2 player game. Each player gets 1 PACK of cards each. Each player turns over 1 card at the same time and puts them beside each other. The first person to correctly multiply the cards drawn (in there head ) says the answer correctly keeps the cards in their “win pile”. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. You can play it in 6 different ways, but multiplication is the best and
hardest, there is no division sadly but you can add it in just by changing it from X tables to division e.g. 10x2=20 change it to 10 divided by 2=5, in the card game it’s only from cards 9-2. You can reduce the amount of cards you need to use so long as you have an even amount of cards.
Sometimes you won’t have the answer in your deck.
You can decide a prize, only because pretty much everyone else’s idea hs a prize.
